ST. CYRIL PREP PROGRAM

For those parish families whose children were in our PREP Program last year, keep your eyes open for mail/email for information on registration for this year’s program. You can email Ms. Mary Kate Murphy at Murphy@stcyrilpa.org if you are interested in registering or re-registering your child/ren. All info will be sent via email to save postage costs. You can call the rectory if you do not have an email address. We had no 1^st grade last year for the first time in our program’s history. If you have a child in 1^st or 2^nd grade, please register or call the rectory immediately. Thank you.

CYO FOOTBALL

Boys in the parish in grades 5 through 8 who would like to play football can register by contacting Coach John McCoy at 215-554-5731 or Joanne Melazzo at 610-626-7074. Boys who are in the parish but do not attend our parish school MUST be enrolled in our PREP program.

CYO CHEERLEADING

Any girl 3rd-8th who would be interested in signing up for Cheerleading this year we will be having two signups :
- Tuesday, August 31, at the 69th street football field 6pm to 7pm.
- Tuesday, September 7, 6pm to 7:30 pm at the 69th street football field this will also be practicing.
The fee is $45.

ARCHDIOCESAN BOYS CHOIR

Do you know a boy who loves to sing and is in grades 2 – 8? The Archdiocesan Boys Choir of Philadelphia offers a rich musical and spiritual experience for boys. ARCHBISHOP PRENDERGAST HIGH SCHOOL

Girls in grades 3 to 8 are invited to audition for the fall production of "Annie" in Prendie’s Auditorium on Thursday, September 9^th, at 7:00 PM.

ANNOUNCED MASSES

There are still some announced masses available in October, November and December, 2010. Mass intentions are $10 each and you can call the rectory (610-623-5160) with your request. Thank you.

BIG G LABELS

Our parish school still participates in the Campbell’s Labels for Education program. Please save all your "Big G" Box Tops and Campbell’s Labels, along with any blue register tapes from the Acme Markets in Clifton Heights and Bond Shopping Center. There is a container in the vestibule of church where you can drop off these items. Thank you for your support.

ROSARY-MIRACULOUS MEDAL NOVENA

You are invited to pray the Rosary every day from Monday through Sunday before the 8:00 AM Mass. The Miraculous Medal Novena prayers will be recited after the 8:00 AM Mass on Saturday. Also, confessions will be heard before the 8:00 AM Mass on Sunday morning.

WALK OF MEMORIES

There are still bricks available for purchase for our Walk of Memories. Bricks cost $100, $200 and $300. Brochures are available in all vestibules. This is a nice way to remember a loved one, a family who has been in the parish, a wedding, etc. Forms are also available by visiting our website: www.saintcyril.org/order.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is every Friday from 8:30 AM until 7:00 PM.

New Parishioners: Invited to register in the parish as soon as possible after moving into the parish. Please call the rectory at the number above to make an appointment.

Rectory Business Hours: Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Marriage: Archdiocesan policy expects six months or more between the first interview with the parish priest and the actual date of the wedding. Couples usually reserve their date and the church about a year in advance.

Sick Calls: Parishioners who are housebound, permanently or temporarily, are visited by the parish priest and Eucharistic Ministers on a regular basis. Anyone in the parish who would want or need this ministry is invited to make arrangements by calling the rectory. Emergency sick calls are attended to immediately.

A recently enacted law has affected the longstanding practice of hospitals and nursing facilities to provide information to churches about parishioners who are patients/residents. Because of this new law, the priests and the staff in the Parish office may not promptly learn, or may not learn at all, that a member of the Parish has been admitted to a hospital. If you, or a member of your family, are hospitalized, and you want the Parish office to know, please personally contact the office and identify the patient, the hospital and the room number. Because all area hospitals may not have the same policies allowing the priest of the parish to know when members are patients, direct notice to the Parish from you or your family is a better approach. If you will be undergoing elective surgery, please call the rectory in advance to receive the Sacrament of the Sick (Anointing). Emergency calls will be handled at all times.

Baptism: The Sacrament of Baptism is held on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month at 12:00 noon. Arrangements must be made at least 2 weeks in advance at the Rectory. One godparent must be Catholic. If you want another godparent, that godparent can be baptized Christian from another denomination.

Adult Religious Education: R.C.I.A.
If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a Catholic, please join us for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) on Thursday nights at 7:30 PM in the school. Our weekly meetings are open to all parishioners as well and to anyone who would like to learn more about the faith.
