SANTA ANNA INFORMER
GRAND KNIGHTS MESSAGE FOR FEBRUARY 2011
To my brother knights and their families:
February is upon us; we are 31 days closer to spring. The first week of February is Catholic Schools Week. Most of us are a product of a catholic school education. We should be thankful for the education and spiritual guidance we received from the priests, sisters and lay teachers who taught us the ABC’s and right from wrong. Please continue to support and help your local catholic schools to provide a quality education for future generations.
I hope to see you at the meeting and St. Valentine Social on February 10.
Yours in Christ,
Dennis Schaeffer Grand knight

SHUT-IN T.V. MASS
The Sunday before Christmas while there was much hustle and bustle preparing for the Christmas holiday, a group of Knights traveled to WPVI Ch. 6 to help celebrate the weekly Mass which is aired every Sunday morning at 5:30 a.m. Two Masses were recorded that afternoon. One for Holy Family Sunday and one for the feast of the Epiphany. Thanx for supporting this important activity. I'm sure that the shut-ins are equally thankful.

ST. ALPHONSO RETREAT …......LONG BRANCH, NEW JERSEY
This has been a painful year for some of us, and a joyous one for others. We have watched our dollar shrink, our investments devalue and our friends move on to Glory.
On the other hand we have all celebrated birthdays and read the promises made by new actuarial tables assuring us that quality life - to and beyond - age 100 is quickly becoming a reality.
What great joys and convoluted sorrows - now and in the future - will continue to fill this marvelous gift we call life. There’s only one way to be assured of the BEST. ONLY ONE WAY!
That is; To place all your trust, love, blood and being into our Great Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST!
Won’t you come along with me and MEET HIM this summer?
I’d like to invite all my Brother Knights to join me for a week-end retreat at St. Alfonso Retreat House.
The retreat schedule for me begins the week-end of July 15th – 17th 2011.
Costs remain as they have been for years $175.00 for the three ( ? ) days.
Registration always opens on Fridays around 4:00PM -- with Dinner Served at 6:00PM.
Departure is on Sunday – any time after Lunch.
(Bernie Mager loved St. Alphonso Retreat House – they feed guests well and often)
Please visit their website at : http://www. sanalphonsoretreats.org
I’m sending this invitation to all of our Santa Anna Council Members, in hopes of getting a group trip together. I CAN pull this off if enough brothers are interested. You have till summer to think about it, but I’ll send out at least two more reminders.
PLEASE…..give San Alphonso’s a serious consideration. it’s quite a place…..it is right on-----I Mean---right on ---The Beach!
Thanks for giving me your time.
GOD BLESS
Mark Howe

JOKE OF THE MONTH
A couple from Minneapolis decided to go to Florida for a long weekend to thaw out during one particularly icy winter. Because both had jobs, they had trouble coordinating their travel schedules. It was decided that the husband would fly to Florida on a Thursday, and his wife would meet him the next day. Upon arriving as planned, the husband checked into the hotel. There he decided to open his laptop and e-mail his wife back in Minneapolis. However, he misspelled her e-mail address by one letter and sent the e-mail without realizing the error.
In Houston, a widow had just returned from her husband's funeral. He was a minister of many years and had been called home following a heart attack. The widow checked her e-mail expecting messages from relatives and friends. Upon reading the first message, she fainted and fell to the floor. The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor and saw the computer screen which read:
To: My loving wife
From: Your departed husband
Subject: I've arrived
I just checked in . Everything is ready for your arrival tomorrow.
Looking forward to seeing you then. Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was.
P.S. (Sure is hot down here)
K OF C INSURANCE
A great big thank you to our insurance agent, Barry Phillips. Barry attended our January meeting and gave a presentation on the various types of insurance that are available to Knights and their families. He deputized those of us that attended to be the insurance "evangelists" . It is up to us to get the word out to our brothers so that they can avail themselves of this wonderful benefit.
For more information give Barry a call at 610-544-1964 or e-mail him at barry.phillips@kofc.org
